Uninstall and deletion
Remove repositories, disconnect Slack, uninstall the GitHub App and delete your organization’s data.
Stopping Warpway and deleting its data are separate steps, so you can pause it without losing history, or remove everything. This page covers each option, from the narrowest to the broadest.
Stop reviewing one repository
- In Warpway: an Admin turns reviews off for the repository on its settings page. Access on GitHub is unchanged, and reviews can be turned on again at any time.
- On GitHub: remove the repository from the installation's repository access (Organization settings → GitHub Apps → Configure next to Warpway). Warpway loses access to it immediately and stops reviewing it.
Either way, the repository's review history stays in Warpway, subject to your retention period, until you delete the organization. If Warpway / Review is a required check for the repository, remove that requirement too, or its pull requests will wait for a check that never arrives.
Disconnect Slack
- In Warpway: an Admin chooses Disconnect under Settings → Slack. Warpway revokes its token.
- In Slack: a workspace admin removes the Warpway app. Slack notifies Warpway, which marks the connection inactive.
Warpway stops sending Slack messages. Open tasks stay visible in the dashboard and are routed through GitHub where possible. Recorded answers remain part of each review's history.
Uninstall the GitHub App
- Organization: Organization settings → GitHub Apps → Configure next to Warpway → Uninstall.
- Personal account: Settings → Applications → Installed GitHub Apps → Configure next to Warpway → Uninstall.
Warpway can no longer obtain access tokens, so it cannot read your repositories or post anything, and it records the installation as removed. Existing Warpway / Review check runs and summary comments stay on your pull requests: they are part of your GitHub history, and you can delete the comments there. If Warpway / Review is a required check, remove that requirement before you uninstall, or pull requests will wait for a check that never arrives.
If you installed the Warpway Runtime app for runtime verification, uninstall it the same way (it appears next to Warpway); that removes Warpway's Actions access.
Uninstalling does not delete your data in Warpway. It stays, subject to your retention period, until an Owner deletes the organization (below). If you have a paid subscription, cancel it in the billing portal as well.
Delete your organization's data
An Owner can delete the organization from organization settings. Deletion:
- asks for confirmation, then records a deletion request with who asked and when; from then on the organization is read-only;
- runs as a background job that revokes the Slack token, deletes stored files, and removes everything tied to the organization: repositories, pull request records, reviews, evidence, findings, human tasks and conversations, people and identities, routing and expertise, organization knowledge, members, settings, the GitHub installation record, the Slack connection, usage and subscription records, and audit events;
- keeps only a record that the deletion happened (the organization's id and URL slug, who requested it, when, and how many records of each kind were removed), with no customer content.
Deleting the organization does not uninstall the GitHub App; uninstall it on GitHub as well (above).
Cancel any paid subscription in the billing portal before deleting. Billing records that tax and accounting law require are kept in Stripe, our payment processor, for as long as the law requires.
Deletion is completed within 30 days of the request. Deleted data can remain in encrypted database backups until they expire.
Delete your personal account
Email marcus@cmglabs.ai from the email address on your GitHub account, or include your GitHub username. We remove your account, sessions and attribution data within 30 days. Answers you gave to review questions remain part of your organization's review history, which the organization controls.
Data held by subprocessors
- OpenAI may keep API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse, then deletes them; Warpway turns OpenAI's response storage off. See Model providers.
- Stripe keeps billing records as payment and tax law requires.
- GitHub and Slack keep what Warpway posted there: check runs stay on their commits, and comments and messages stay until you delete them in those services.
